How it works

From shutter to safe, without lifting a finger.

Here is everything FotoSafe does between the moment you take a photo and the moment it’s backed up. You only step in when a photo needs your judgment.

Steps 1 to 3

Find. Watch. Check.

  1. Find every photo you already havefirst launchCamera Roll, Pictures, Downloads, DCIM on SD cards and camera drives. You don’t choose folders. App icons, stickers and screenshots of text are skipped.
  2. Keep watching for new onesalwaysOn phones it uses the system’s own photo-change notifications, so it doesn’t drain the battery by polling.
  3. Check the quality on your device< 1 sExposure, focus, motion blur and tilt are measured before the photo leaves. A doubtful photo never uses your data plan.

Steps 4 to 6

Sort. Back up. Review.

  2. Back up the good ones automaticallyWi-FiOriginal quality, encrypted. Uploads pause when the battery is low and resume where they left off.
  3. Review the rest when it suits youweeklyBack held photos up anyway, keep them on the device, or approve a whole batch in one tap.

Questions

Things people ask before they install.

Will FotoSafe ever delete a photo from my device?

No. FotoSafe only reads your photos and copies them to your backup. Freeing up space is a separate option you turn on yourself, and it only removes photos already confirmed in your backup.

Does it work with photos from my camera?

Yes. Plug in an SD card or camera on Windows or macOS and FotoSafe picks up JPEG, HEIC and the common RAW formats.

What if I want everything backed up, blurry or not?

Turn on “Back up everything” in settings. Photos are still checked and labelled, but nothing waits for review.

Does it use a lot of battery or data?

Checks take a fraction of a second per photo. Uploads use Wi-Fi by default and pause below 20% battery unless you’re charging.

Can I see my backup on another device?

Yes. Sign in on any device or at fotosafe.net to see all your photos.
